Joel Purser joined Beck, Owen and Murray in 2015 and practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, insurance defense, and local government representation.
Joel graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Classics. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Joel attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, graduating in 2013 with his J.D. While at Mercer, he was a member of the Federalist Society, the Second Amendment Society, and the Christian Legal Society. Joel spent a semester clerking for the Houston County Superior Court Chief Judge George F. Nunn, Jr. and Judge Katherine K. Lumsden. He also spent two summers interning with the Southeast Georgia Health System’s General Counsel office.
Prior to joining Beck, Owen and Murray, Joel served as the Assistant District Attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit and gained valuable trial and court room experience prosecuting a wide range of felony and juvenile criminal cases.
Joel lives in Griffin with his wife, Rachel, and their chocolate lab, Grizzly. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and competing with the Greater Atlanta Defensive Pistol Association.
